If you're in need of assistance, of any kind, please call our
Help Line at (902) 421-1188
Trained in the Empathic Listening
technique, our volunteers will take the time to listen to all of the factors and concerns you may be experiencing. They will explore possible options and will help find the answers that work for you.
The Help Line is not limited to concerns about food. Many callers are struggling with more personal problems – relationship problems, family breakdown, stress, violence, and mental health concerns.* Callers may be experiencing problems with disability, finances, employment, housing, school and training. We can help you to identify and explore your goals, locate services and resources to address your needs, and provide you with personal support and encouragement.
We can't promise to solve your problems but you don’t have to do it all alone – we can help
.
*Please note this is a volunteer-based service. We cannot provide professional mental health advice or counselling, though we can help locate those services.
If you are seeking food assistance only, please call us at (902) 457-1900 or (902) 421-1188 to speak with a member of our client support team.
We will work with you to determine what food assistance programs in your area best meet your needs, offering referrals and assistance with program registration.
