LakeCity Woodworkers
LakeCity Woodworkers provides work and work related opportunities for people who have experienced mental health difficulties. At LakeCity Woodworkers people can work at their own pace and skill level while receiving support and instruction. Participants receive a training allowance while attending this program. For individuals who have been out of the work force a while or have not had any previous work experience, LakeCity offers the opportunity for to gain work skills, participate in a meaningful activity and develop friendships. Production of the commercial wooden products and furniture is a vehicle for individuals to gain independence and self-esteem.

At LakeCity Woodworkers, participation is based on the needs and aspirations of the person involved. This involvement may be on a short or long term basis and may be either full or part-time. Individualized vocational plans are developed with the participants and focus on areas that will be consistent with their personal goals.

The training program also offers a career exploration component for people who have a limited work history and wish to pursue work in some capacity. Referral to other community-based programs is provided as well.
